Michael
Capone is a contemporary Christian singer/songwriter. His music, encompassing
genres from light rock to acoustic/inspirational, talks about daily life
through reverent blends of music and lyrics. |
 |
|
A
Catholic and native of Denver, Colorado, Capone admires the beauty of
many classical and liturgical pieces while enjoying the pulse of rock.
By some means he merges them together into pleasant and faithful music,
songs which help the listener contemplate the fundamental things of life.
Influenced by a lifetime of performing in concert, choral, theatrical,
liturgical and rock & roll groups, his songwriting reflects styles
from the rock & roll of the 50s through the 80s along with the timeless
beauty of spiritual and classical music. |

The
Denverite is a family man with a wife and three children. He is full of
hope for the future because he knows so many are working hard to bring about
the civilization of love spoken of by John Paul II. Capone himself had a
strong conversion when John Paul II visited his hometown in 1993 for World
Youth Day. |
|
Since
1984, Capone has performed internationally for family audiences. He has
been nationally televised from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
where he performed with Carol Burnett and for an audience which included
President and Mrs. Reagan; The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN)
has internationally televised Capone from Denver; and San José
Producciones, S.A. filmed Michael’s concert at Convivio, an international
South American youth congress held in Lima, Peru. |

 |
“Light
for the Journey” is the Denver man’s fourth album and his
first solo effort. Through it, one sees a man sharing some of the intimate
details of his life, asking himself some of the most difficult questions:
“What should I do with my life?”, “How many children
does God want?” and, “I’m older, but am I wiser?”
are lyric lines from three songs on the album. |
|
The publication Church
News said of Michael’s album: “A classic”, “Beautiful songs”, “Will
appeal to the tastes of youth”, “Will touch parents deeply”, and
“The songs fill a gap in the production of religious music”. |
|
Capone
has performed in many states in the USA, Europe, Mexico and South America.
His audiences have ranged from humble and spiritual parish folks to prestigious
and glamorous actors and politicians. A liturgical musician for over two
decades, Michael also has served as musical director for many retreats. |
